ABSTRACT

Yoga is an ancient Indian science which helps to improve physical, mental, social and spiritual health. Stress is a major factor affecting the mental health of a person irrespective of age. Presentation of the stress may vary from that of fight to flight phenomenon. Chronic stress is the major cause of many physical and mental disorders. Yoga has been effectively used in the management of stress. It has been observed that the practice of yoga decreases verbal aggressiveness compared to physical exercise. It is also useful against physical stress like cold exposure and stress due to diseases like epilepsy. Yoga has been found useful for mental disorders like depression In a study conducted by Oken et al., on healthy seniors participants were divided into three groups as yoga, exercise and waitlist control. The yoga group showed significant improvement in quality of life and physical measures compared to the exercise and waitlist control group.

ABSTRACT

There is (and always has been) a dichotomy on how women’s  achievements were perceived as compared to men. Achievements by women, no matter how commendable in themselves, were always benchmarked against similar achievements by men, mostly to the detriment of the former. The female was generally considered to be inferior to the male. Ironically, although many women conformed to the male perception, this itself was seen as a form of inferiority. The male was considered intelligent, assertive and objective while the female was seen as possessing contrary qualities. Thus, while the qualities in a man were seen in a positive reference frame the same qualities, if shown by a woman, was often considered in a negative light.

ABSTRACT

The paper focuses on the various aspects of e-resources. Digital technology has made it more easy and speedy to access information in remote areas. Electronic resources solve storage problems and control the flood of information. Digitization of print resources is becoming more and more important for the academic libraries. Digital technology has made the libraries to add new things to its collection and the most prominent among them is the e-resources. This paper presents an overview of e-resources describing its features, need/purpose, types and utility for libraries and also some suggestions for its effective use.

ABSTRACT

India started its Retail Journey since ancient time. In ancient India there was a concept of weekly HAAT, where all the buyers & sellers gather in a big market for bartering. It takes a pretty long times to & step to shape the modern retail. In between these two concepts (i.e. between ancient retail concept & the modern one there exist modern kirana/ mom and pop shops or Baniya ki Dukan. Still it is predominating in India, so the Indian retail industry is divided into two sectors- organized and unorganized. Retailing is one of the pillars of Indian economy and accounts for 14 to 15 percent of its GDP. The Indian retail market is estimated to be US$ 450 billion and one of the top five retail markets in the world by economic value. India is one of the fastest growing retail markets in the world, with 1.2 billion people.

ABSTRACT

Why is everyone so concerned about crude oil prices all of a sudden? That’s because the global crude oil prices have been steadily rising over the past few months. For the first time since 2014, the international benchmark for global oil prices crossed the $80/barrel mark in May 2018. Compare this to the $29/barrel price during early 2016. This sudden surge in prices has a great impact on various segments of the Indian economy.

ABSTRACT

In a discussion with Lin Norton, a Professor from Liverpool Hope University USA, I developed three scintillating similarities; ‘teacher like a guide’, ‘student like a traveler and ‘education like liberating force’. The symbols are common but reflect manifold connotations. We are using such symbols in academia but the analysis of the practice and the outcome simply reflects big naught , let’s say very feeble outcome, which we can seldom take to be  authentic. Most of us, in our academic institutions, simply teach, boast ourselves to be good teachers, to be authority on the subject, pedantic professors and great researchers but to the receiver’s party i.e. the students, it echoes just like  an empty vessel.  Another tribe boasting to be learner centered, updated and democratic believes in ‘Learning’ and they talk of the learner centered teaching. They say ‘we care for learners’.  Our teaching is to the benefit of everyone from the first to the last person of the class. It is perfectly right and command greater applaud and tribute.

Road is the mean and main in transport network system. It is an important indicator in the development of nation. Road density means the length of road networks in a unit area of particular region. The development of the region is generally influenced by road network system. This paper has reveals the evaluation of road network density by area and population in Akola district of Maharashtra state.

ABSTRACT

श्रेष्ठ टीकाकार हा स्वतंत्र लेखक असतो, याचे कारण त्याची कृती ही विधायक स्वरुपाची असावी लागते हेच होय; वाङ्मयातील शास्त्रीय ग्रंथावरील समीक्षा ही वस्तुनिष्ठ स्वरूपाची असते. त्यात समिक्षकाच्या अंगातील गुणांना प्रकट होण्यास फारसा वाव नसतो; पण ललित वाङ्मयातील ग्रंथावर समीक्षा करताना समीक्षकाला आपले व्यक्तिमत्व प्रकट करण्यास अवसर मिळतो. केवळ शब्दांचा अर्थ विशद करणे, विधवा मूळ ग्रंथातील आशयाचा स्वत:च्या शब्दात अनुवाद करणे, आणि अशा रीतीने लेखक आणि वाचक ह्यांच्यातील मध्यस्थांची भूमिका स्वीकारणे, हे समीक्षकेचे केवळ गौण कार्य होय; कलावंताने ज्या मन: स्थितीत राहून कलाकृती निर्माण केली असेल त्या मन:स्थितीचा स्वत: अनुभव घेऊन त्याचा प्रत्यय कलात्मकतेने इतरांना पटवून देणे हेच प्रमुख कार्य ठरते. समीक्षेचा हा व्यापक अर्थ लक्षात घेतल्यास समीक्षा लेखन हे एक प्रकारचे परोपजीवी आणि दुय्यम प्रतीचे वाङ्मय होय, ही कल्पना निराधार ठरेल.

महाराष्ट्रातील पूर्व व पश्चिम विदर्भातील लोकसंख्येचा अभ्यास करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला आहे. कारण या भागातील लोकसख्येचे प्रमाण वाढलेले आहे. लोकसंख्या वाढीमुळे अनेक अगणित समस्या स्थानिक, राज्यीय, राष्ट्रीय व आंतरराष्ट्रीय पातळीवर निर्माण होत आहे. एवढेच नाही तर त्या समस्या झपाट्याने वाढत आहे. या वाढत्या लोकसंख्येमुळे मानवाच्या अस्तित्वाला धोका निर्माण झाला आहे. विदर्भातील लोकसंख्येचे विश्लेषण पाहता वाशिम, बुलढाणा व नागपुर या जिल्ह्यातील लोकसंख्या वाढ इतर आठ जिल्ह्याच्या मानाने जास्त दिसून येते.
