ABSTRACT

In this modern era, the word marketing does not mean mere buying and selling for a consideration. It emerges dramatically time to time in the same time it focuses the customers in every time and every dimension. Thus the customers get importance and they are the boss in the marketing process. The attitude and perception of the customers directly influence the strategy and policy of the marketers. Satisfaction can be achieved only by fulfilling the expectation and perception of the customers. Whether it may be commodity or service, the product has to satisfy the customer needs. Thus the marketer has to be educated about the customer perception towards the products. Perception of a person induced by his characteristics, specially his attitude. Thus the attitude and perception of a customer are directly influencing the buying behavior.  Shopping mall is an important format of retailing in this customized era. The expectation and attitude of the customer also changes time to time. Hence, it is necessary to study the attitude and perception of the customers to identify the driving factors and to develop and change the existing mode of retail to form an optimal one.

THE IMPACTS OF FINANCIAL SERVICES ON “MAKE IN INDIA CAMPAIGN”

ABSTRACT

India needs to analyze the importance of its financial services. The way to keep pace with the environment for a country is to develop its manufacturing sector. The success of “Make in India” campaign would depend upon the availability of financial services required. The study highlights the role of various available modes of financial services in order to bring the desired change and accelerate the growth of manufacturing sector in India. The present study brought forward the impacts of financial services in boosting manufacturing sector in India and to make “Make in India” campaign a success. Efficient and dynamic financial services have positive relationship with the development of manufacturing sector in India and overall Indian economy. Assistance of financial services is very much required for lifting the Indian manufacturing sector. The study takes into consideration the opinions of selected managers of banks and financial institutions, finance managers of companies, entrepreneurs, government officials and experts from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa.

THE ROLE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN E-GOVERNANCE: THE ROAD AHEAD (WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO INDIA)

ABSTRACT

Governments at local levels are facing challenges posed by increased demand for better quality of governance. While the developed world and some Asian countries have moved very quickly, India continues to lag behind in meeting the increasing levels of citizen expectations. The massive population growth, diversity of cultures, acute poverty and high illiteracy create numerous difficulties in delivery mechanisms of government services. The existing processes of service delivery and governance need to be improved. E-governance is the effective use of Information &Communication Technology (ICT) to improve the system of governance that is in place, and thus provide better services to the Citizens. E-Governance is considered as a high priority agenda in Kashmir. E-Governance has been recognized as a vital force for transformational improvement in quality, efficiency and effectiveness of governance. The Good Governance in the Urban Local Bodies involves increased participation of the citizens, greater accountability and transparency in the operation of these bodies. In line with the transparency in the operation of these bodies in line with the national policy, the State Government has agreed to initiate a programme of reforms in the Municipal Bodies to achieve these objectives. These reform measures would include steps to raise resources by the municipal bodies and to strengthen the accountability systems in these bodies. E-Governance is the process of enabling governance experts using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to make governance effective for citizens in terms of efficiency, transparency, and cost-effectiveness.

PROJECTION OF SIMILARITIES AND DISSIMILARITIES IN TERMS OF EXPRESSION AND EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE USE OF SYMBOLS AND IMAGES AS REFLECTED IN THE POETICAL WORKS OF YEATS AND ELIOT

ABSTRACT

This paper studies to some extent the similarities and dissimilarities in terms of expression and experience through the use of symbols and images as reflected in the poetical works of W.B. Yeats and T.S.Eliot, projecting them as notable writers who modified the poetic sensibility of the present century through their literary compositions. It examines neatly and shows how Yeats and Eliot are more dissimilar than similar in their poetic realm and how both have used distinctive myths and images to express their vision though similarities and dissimilarities are found in their choice of images, symbols and their treatment.

NEED AND IMPORTANCE OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT IN FORMAL EDUCATION

ABSTRACT

In today’s globalized era, Skill development is the basic necessity for self-employment and entrepreneurship. Indeed, it is the need of the hour for the economic development of 21st Century India. Today, every child must be imparted vocational education as a part of the curriculum. Education is the proper tool through which skill development is possible. It can make the all-round development of the individual. Vocational classes should be imparted as a part of the curriculum. By doing so, the cost of skill development can be reduced. Moreover, children can learn fast than the more grown up adults. When these children become adults, they can earn their own livelihood. They can learn the value of money and the taste of earning by their own sweat and brow. Besides, these children can learn some basic marketing strategies. It should be done under the supervision of a teacher. Schools should be established and the existing schools should be remodeled as sort of industrial schools. Here, industrial school refers to a school where both academic and vocation education are given. It best suits for the residential schools. However, it can be adjusted and practiced with other schools too. The present paper demonstrates the need and importance of skill development. It also focus on the different aspects such as skills, necessity of skill development, life skills which helps to get employability.

Language is used in human affairs as it is an effective medium of communication. It grows in the course of time adopting itself to the changing situations and needs of the society. Language is passed from one generation to the next one. It is a vehicle to express once feelings, to give information or to state facts. Language is the only characteristic that distinguishes human beings from other animals. Language has fascinated philosophers, scientists, technocrats, diplomats, thinkers and poets for thousands of years. Language, though ubiquitous, people seem to be unaware of its pervasiveness.  Philosophers and linguists have studied language from various angles and tried to define it. They have taken into account its various aspects such as structural or functional. It is also studied from sociolinguistic point of view or keeping human mind at the centre. Hence there have been many definitions of language focussing its nature or function. Language is also a means to preserve culture. It is passed from one generation to the next one, while adopting itself to the changing situations and needs of the society. It also grows in the course of time that’s why it is called a living thing.

Library professionals can create a new roadmap by learning new skills and competencies. They should always be willing to embrace the changes that confront them. Libraries should make consistent efforts to fit in twenty-first century librarianship.
