DEFORESTATION : A THREAT TO GLOBAL WARMING

ABSTRACT

Over last few years we have been facing global warming and climate change.  It is well known that global warming is being caused  largely due to emissions of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Deforestation has a direction association with carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. It can also be seen as removal of forests leading to several imbalances ecologically and environmentally and results in declines in habitat and biodiversity. Deforestation is a serious threat to the environment. If we do not this problem with the immediate concern it would destroy the entire environment.  Deforestation will cause the imbalanced climate behavior in our earth. Forests have the potential to provide us with new crop varieties and medicines but the population pressures, profits, and internal social  and political forces can all push up the rate of forest loss. This availability of fodder will be reduced and the age-old animal link in the hill eco-system would be broken. The destruction of forest covers in the ecologically sensitive. The paper examines the global patterns in deforestation, assess the human and ecological costs of forest loss, and discuss some of the steps that can help to rectify this alarming situation.

BADAL SIRCAR’S BHOMA: A PLETHORA OF EXPLOITATION OF SUBALTERN CLASSES

ABSTRACT

Badal Sircar is recognized as a promising literary figure in Indian literature.  He not only lifted but also enriched the Indian theatre. He is a strong voice of oppressed and downtrodden classes. He has written more than fifty plays. Basically he has written his plays in Bengali but later on many plays were translated into English.  His plays majorly address the social issues and reflect the bridge between the rural and urban life.  Bhooma is known as the best literary masterpiece.  The research paper tries to attempt find the voices of subaltern classes. The research paper also exposes critically the harsh realities faced by subaltern classes. Bhooma gives a painful picture of oppressed class.

GANDHI AND THE INDIAN WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

ABSTRACT

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi an Indian lawyer, politician, social activist and a writer, became the leader of the Nationalist movement against the British rule. Later, he came to be known as, the father of India. He used the doctrine of Non-violence and Satyagraha in his protest that became the cause for achieving success in the political and social progress of the country. His role in making the women of the country participate in the political activities and the upsurge of the country was commendable. Along with, he is credited for improving the condition of Indian women and assigning them a better position in the society at the time when women were considered to be mere slaves, who hardly would have realized that she can ever be freed.

PROFESSIONAL COMMITMENT OF TEACHER EDUCATORS IN SECONDARY TEACHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS AND DISTRICT INSTITUTES OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN NAGALAND

ABSTRACT

The study tried to find out the commitment of teacher educators towards their profession in relation to educational qualification, teaching experience, location of residence, gender and level of teacher education. Hypotheses were formulated according to the objectives identified. Descriptive research method was adopted for the study and population consisted of the teacher educators placed in the Secondary Teacher Education Institutions (STEI) and District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) in Nagaland. Professional Commitment Scale for Teacher Educators, developed by Dr. Vishal Sood was employed for collection of data; Mean and Standard Deviation were calculated and t-test along with one-way ANOVA were applied to compare the professional commitment of teacher educators with respect to five dimensions. Analysis of data showed that place of residence, teaching experience made no difference in professional commitment; male teacher educators, and teacher educators in Secondary Teacher Education Institutions were more committed; however, educational qualification affected certain aspects of their commitment.

DR. AMBEDKAR AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

ABSTRACT

Dr. Ambedkar is the Father of Indian Constitution. Dr. Ambedkar was the world's greatest humanitarian, revolutionary, philosopher and one of the great intellectuals of the world.  He was the pioneer of human rights, a liberator of the 1 Billion Bahujans and women. He also revived Buddhism in the land of its origin and oblivion. The Father of Modern, Scientific, Industrial and Urbane India. He is also the Father of all Fathers due to his unparalleled fore vision and work in building of Indian Democratic Nation by planning and policy formulations. Annihilation of Caste, individual and free social order, reorganization of India, New India and New Social Order, PraBuddha Bharat, New World Order, Democracy and Democratic World Order, reconstruction of world and enlightened New World are some of the enlightenments which enamor humanity and not just Indians.  Dr. Ambedkar was a great upholder of women’s dignity, rights and a staunch believer in Women’s Agency as an agent of change.

संत श्री भय्याजी महाराज वर्णित ज्ञानयोग

ABSTRACT

संत श्री सुखदेवजी बुधोलिया उपाख्य भय्याजी महाराज यांच्या मते ज्ञानयोग या शब्दाचा अर्थ,‘तत्वचिंतनाने, ईश्वराशी संयोग घडवून आणून, त्याच्याशी ऐक्य पावणे असा आहे.  श्रीगुरू/ दिव्य पुरुषाकडून प्राप्त झालेल्या दिव्य नामाचे स्मरण व स्वानुभवातून प्रकट झालेले सखोल ज्ञानाची आवश्यक असून ईश्वराशी अनुसंधान लावणे ही ज्ञानयोगातील मुख्य साधना असल्याचे भय्याजी महाराज सांगतात. ज्ञानयोगात बुद्धीचे मुख्यकार्य असून ज्ञान ही बुद्धीची प्रेरणा आहे. सत्त्व, रज, तम हे तीन गुण परस्परांना दाबणारे व परस्परातून उत्पन्न होणारे असून शुद्ध सत्त्व वाढले तर ते ज्ञानाला साध्य करून देते. कैवल्याच्या मार्गात या सत्त्व गुणास देखील त्यागावे लागते. सत्, चित् व आनंद हे तिन्ही गुण एकरूप असून हे येणेपरी क्रमप्राप्तच असल्याचे भ. महाराज सांगतात. या ज्ञानाचा आश्रय घेतल्याने मुमुक्षुजन  अहंभावातून नम्रतेकडे, असत्यातून सत्याकडे, अज्ञानातून ज्ञानाकडे, विशादातून आनंदाकडे व पारतंत्र्यातून स्वातंत्र्याकडे जात असल्याचे भय्याजी महाराज म्हणतात.
