the beneficial provision for organized and Unorganized Workers in Goa. It is a humble attempt to scrutinize
the provisions from the angle of social, economic and political justice which
is beneficial to the Unorganized Workers. The paper has outlined the provision
of labour law and, other acts related to the Unorganized Workers. The present
paper makes efforts to bring into the notice that the state really fulfills the

Unorganized Workers. In fact, this research paper deals with the labour law and
other major legislations that were enacted for safeguarding the rights of the

Arundhati Roy's masterpiece The God of Small Things pivots around a fated, forbidden relationship between a Syrian-Christian divorcee, Ammu and a low-caste untouchable carpenter, Velutha. The novel presents social injustice with women in a conventional patriarchal domination where women have a marginalised status and were seldom allowed to take any education as men always dominate women socially, morally, emotionally and psychologically. The novel depicts a graphic picture of the miserable plight of the Indian women, their sufferings and anxieties, and especially their humble submission in a conservation male social set up. Casteism and patriarchy are the major discursive practices which form the backdrop of the tragic drama unfolded in The God of Small Things. Ammu was such a character that she was deprived of any sympathy and compassion in her days of adversity and misfortune, her kith and kin who came to see her on the pretext of showing sympathy, shed crocodile tears on her miseries and she gradually learnt to study their hypocrisy and hate them.

A legendry figure in the Indian Novel in English, Anand has earned a remarkable and commendable place among the Indian novelists like R. K. Narayan and Raja Rao. He has endeared himself to millions of readers, throughout the English-speaking world, because of his flair for story-telling and his passionate humanism. His works are interspersed with Indian moral values, the evil forces which dominate the society, his humanitarian attitude and deep sympathy for the poor, wretched and the down-trodden people. Untouchable is indeed a pathetic cry of the sufferings of the low class people under the British rule and also under the pressure of outdated Hindu/Brahmin customs and oppressive traditions. The Indian society had been suffering under the burden of slavery for the past two hundred years. Age old practices of discrimination on the basis of caste and class continued to crush the free spirit of man and also continued to separate man from man.

मध्ययुग में आविर्भूत भक्ति-आंदोलन
एक महान सांस्कृतिक घटना मानी जाती है | भक्ति-काव्य का सर्जन इस युग की सबसे बड़ी
देन है | लगभग तीन सौ वर्षों से भी ज्यादा समय तक चले इस भक्ति-आंदोलन में भक्ति
की जो अन्तर्धाराएँ प्रवाहित हुई इनमें निर्गुण-भक्ति का अपना विशेष महत्त्व है | कबीर निर्गुण पंथ के प्रमुख आधारस्तंभ हैं | कबीर द्वारा प्रवर्तित निर्गुण
पंथ सहज भक्ति का मार्ग प्रशस्त करता है, जिसमें वर्ग, वर्ण, धर्म ,जाति और संप्रदाय
का कोई महत्त्व नहीं होता – “जाति पांति पूछे नहीं कोइ,
हरि को भजे सो हरि का होइ |” कबीर का जन्म विधवा ब्राह्मणी से हुआ था और पालन-पोषण
नीरू एवं नीमा नामक जुलाहा दंपति द्वारा हुआ था | कबीर अनपढ़ थे, किन्तु जगत को
उन्हों ने खुली आँखों से देखा-परखा था | वे कहते हैं – “मैं कहता हौं आँखिन की देखी, तू कहता कागद की लेखी |” अत: उनकी बानियों में
जीवनानुभवों से प्राप्त सत्य का साक्षात्कार होता है | यही करण है कि लगभग छ: सौ
वर्ष पूर्व कही-लिखी गई कबीर की बानियाँ आज भी इतनी ही प्रासंगिक है |

“यत्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते रामन्ते तत्र देवता: । ”इस पंक्ति को तो सभी जानते हैं, लेकिन अगली पंक्ति को
बहुत कम लोग जानते हैं। अगली पंक्ति हैं – “यत्रैस्तास्तु न पूज्यते
सर्वास्तत्राफला क्रिया: । ” अर्थात जहाँ नारी का सम्मान नहीं होता वहाँ विकास की
सभी क्रियाएं विफल हो जाती हैं। हजारो वर्ष पहले कही गई यह बात आज के समय में भी प्रासंगिक
है। ईश्वर की द्रुष्टि में स्त्री-पुरुष में कोई भेद नहीं है।उसमें भी स्त्री को
ईश्वर ने विशेष रूप से प्रेममयी, सेवामायी और करुणामयी बनाया है।
संपूर्ण सृष्टि की उत्पत्ति व पालन की विशेष भूमिका स्त्री ही निभाती है।परंतु
वर्तमान समय में स्त्री जाति से अधिक ओर कोई अत्याचार का भोग नहीं बनता।जन्म से
पहले गर्भपात व जन्म के बाद अत्याचारपूर्ण व तिरस्कृत जीवन जीने पर विवश कर दिया
जाता है।आज के समय में स्त्री भ्रूण-परीक्षण एवं स्त्री भ्रूण-हत्या कन्याओं के
लिए अभिशापबन गया है।

घरेलू कामगार हा रोजगार वाढीचा
परिणामतः अर्थव्यवस्थेच्या विकासाचा एक महत्वाचा घटक बनलेला आहे. वाढत्या शहरीकारणामुळे
आणि विभक्त कुटुंब पद्धतीमुळे घरेलू कामगारांची मागणी दिवसेंदिवस वाढत आहे.
त्यातूनच असंघटीत अशा घरेलू कामगारांबाबत मानवी तस्करीच्या आणि त्यांच्या
शोषणाच्या विविध घटना समोर येत आहेत. यामुळे या घरेलू कामगारांची सामाजिक आणि आर्थिक
स्थिती सुधारणे आणि त्यांना कायद्याचे संरक्षण मिळणे आज आवश्यक बाब बनली आहे.
यासाठी राज्यनिहाय व शहरनिहाय घरेलू कामगारांचा अभ्यास होणे आवश्यक आहे. याच हेतूने
महाराष्ट्र राज्यातील धुळे शहरातील घरेलू कामगारांच्या सामाजिक आणि आर्थिक स्थितीचा
अभ्यास केला आहे.
