AUTOBIOGRAPHY: A LIFE-TEXT OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF IDENTITY

DR. RAJKUMAR M. LAKHADIVE

ABSTRACT

The autobiographical act is a result of pre-text. It arises from the autobiographer’s own life which occurs before the text and which the autobiographer and the reader read as the text. The act of autobiography also becomes the pre-text for the construction of a self-image by the autobiographer and the reader, the latter reading the autobiographical text while considering her or his own life-text. The self-conscious and careful selection of events, people, and memories within an autobiographical text either “fictive” or “deliberate” re-orders the past and can generate more memories. The autobiographical act is a re-reading of one’s past, a recognition that is self-conscious and selective, it becomes a re-vision, a re-writing of the past in the light of the present.

SYMBOLISM – A KEY CONCEPT IN LITERATURE

DR. RAJKUMAR M. LAKHADIVE

ABSTRACT

Symbols are a means of complex communication that often times can have multiple levels of meaning. This separates symbols from signs, as signs have only one meaning. A symbol’s meaning may be modified by various factors including popular usage, history and contextual intent. The history of a symbol is one of many factors in determining a particular symbol’s apparent meaning. The word ‘symbol’ has been used to mean anything from a simple mark to complex and arcane images through convoluted stories, and even to philosophic arguments.  Unfortunately, most tomes claiming to discuss or collect symbols try to ignore this ambiguity, making any effort to categorize books and other sources a highly subjective, not to mention tremendously intricate task.  Further, there are all the similar and related terms: symbolize, symbolism, symbolic, signs, signals, significance, myths, mythology, images. The context of a symbol may change its meaning. Similar five-pointed stars might signify a law enforcement officer or a member of the armed services, depending upon the uniform.

AN APPROACH TO RESOLVE CHALLENGES IN ENGINEERING EDUCATION IN INDIA

DR. NANASAHEB M. HALGARE

ABSTRACT

As we know that there are near around 80,000 less seats in engineering in this year. This will lead to around  3.1 lakh seats less in four years including 2018-19 academic year . dont get alarmed here .because actual enrollment has been on decline since 2012-13 coming down by 1.86 lakh. And According to AICTE nearly substandard engineering colleges have applied for closure. One of the main reason of declining admission of engineering day by day  is less faculty Retention in major of engineering colleges. If we have to improve the  admission in engineering ,it is possible only when faculty retention ration is increased. This is what we focus in this paper.
